Structural Composition of Color Ring Inductors

The structural composition of a color ring inductor consists of several components, primarily including the magnetic core, pins, paint, and copper wire:

1. The conductive material of color ring inductors is mainly various types of high-strength enameled wire; only tuning high-frequency transformers use cotton-covered wire.

2. Among the material components of color ring inductors, the magnetic core is the most important. With the magnetic core, winding can be performed based on the required inductance value, and the number of winding turns directly determines the inductance of the color ring inductor. Therefore, the magnetic core is the main structural component.

3. All inductors are equipped with an insulation frame externally, primarily to facilitate ease of operation and to ensure that the color ring inductor does not conduct electricity to the user when energized.

Regardless of the product in which a color ring inductor is used, its main principle is to perform step-up or step-down functions. A step-up inductor can control the current within the inductor, while a step-down inductor utilizes the energy of the inductor itself to increase the current.
